Shiny Stuff!

Collected a few new shiny bits of kit over the winter, new lid, blades, drysuit and boat!!

First buy was a sexy palm sidewinder torrent- excellent bit of kit, has made my winter courses so much more enjoyable, but also means squirt boating all winter!

Sadly my Watersticks finally got laid to rest at the end of summer- got a bit annoying doing bowstalls and seeing streams of bubbles coming out of the blades.
After using watersticks for so many years, the obvious choice for me was to try h2o paddles (the name also fitted in very well!!!). Well, I must have liked them, because I bought a pair! Big thanks to Colm at Irish Canoe Outfitters! Really enjoying paddling with them, grips feel great, loads of power, zero flutter, and proving to be able to handle my kit abuse!!

My next spend was a steathy matt black Sweet Rocker. I decided as much as I like my happy to be (skook), It perhaps doesnt offer the greatest protection on bigger grade water. The Rocker is super comfy, well built, and most importantly- looks wicked!!

The latest purchase was a big chunk, but definatly worth it. A lovely shiny Pyranha Ammo. I paddled Marsports demo for a couple of months, and was so impressed I bought my own. I wasnt sure what to expect at first- Is it a playboat? Is it a creek boat? Is it something totally different?! Well my first paddle scared the hell outta me. I managed to blunt it at Shepperton! A few week later I took it down the Upper, and the Dart Loop. I reckon this is set to be the ultimate Devon boat. You can paddle and feel totally safe on rivers like the Upper and East Lyn, yer still have fun playing on top wave or the Flower Pots!
For Coaching this boat suits me perfectly, big anough to carry all my kit, inc splits, yet still small anough that you can have fun, and don't feel a fool for paddling a creekboat on a grade II!!!
As with all boats, paddling it speaks louder than pictures or words. Feel free to contact me if you fancy trying one and i'll find you a demo...

Winter & the NEC

Well, I've been really slack writing here. Had a busy winter with plenty of water- hope you all had as much fun as us.

First competion of 2007 was the Peak UK indoor challenge, held at the NEC / Outdoor Show.

A good fun event, a congrats' to all the winners- watch out seniors, some of those juniors sure know how to paddle!
